Quick Pickled Onions Recipe – SO Easy!

Quick Pickled onions are a low effort, maximum flavoured summer side dish! The prep work takes less than 5 minutes and the ingredients are simple, clean, and refreshing. I like to make a batch or two of this pickled onions recipe each week, depending what’s on the upcoming meal plans. There is also an option to really spice up your jar. You can add 1/4 of red pepper flakes to start and go from there. I find the mustard seeds are enough, but I don’t love too much heat.

Pickled Onions Recipe – quick and easy!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole red onion sliced thinly
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (or maple syrup)
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 cup White vinegar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Slice the onions very thin.

  2. Stack the onions into the mason size jar

  3. Add in the sugar and mustard seeds

  4. Slowly pour the liquids over the onions.

  5. Put the lid on tight and give'r a shake!

  6. Store in the fridge overnight for best results OR leave on the counter for 30 minutes before serving.
