When the little ones in your life decide to go on veggie strike, it’s time to get creative. These SosiSafe Broccoli Bites imitate our favourite meatball recipe but we swapped out the meat for sweet and crunchy veggies! This recipe is super simple, peanut and milk free, and vegetarian! Oh, and it takes less than 15 minutes to prep. The combination of broccoli and sweet potato not only taste crunchy and delicious but together load you with Vitamins A, B6, C, vitamin E, potassium, magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids, protein, zinc, calcium, iron, niacin and selenium! Whoa. And to top that all off, the amazing thing about broccoli is it’s ability to reduce allergy reaction and inflammation. 

Broccoli is a particularly rich source of kaempferol and isothiocyanates, both anti-inflammatory phyto nutrients. Research has shown the ability of kaempferol to lessen the impact of allergy-related substances on our body. Broccoli even has significant amounts of omega 3 fatty acids, which are well know as an anti-inflammatory. Source

    • 1 medium uncooked sweet potato
    • 1 cup uncooked broccoli, (about one head)
    • 2 tsp table salt
    • 2 slices bread, Silver Hills (toasted, then food processed)
    • food processor, I prefer the compact but powerful Betty Crocker

  • 1 tsp olive oil, for greasing the pan
  • large mixing bowl
  • baking pan, we use a 9 x 9 Pampered Chef




  1. Toast the bread.

  2. Grease the pan.

  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  4. Place the toast in the food processor, blend until crumb consistency, set aside.

  5. Place the broccoli into the food processor, blend until the pieces are very small, set aside.

  6. Set aside, place 1 tsp salt onto it and stir.
  7. Place the sweet potato into the food processor, blend until the pieces are very small.
  8. Set aside, place 1 tsp salt onto it and stir.
  9. Wait 15-30 minutes for the extra moisture to evaporate from the veggies.
  10. Mix the breadcrumbs, sweet potato, and broccoli in a separate bowl.

  11. Shape the mixture into 9 bites, spread out evenly onto your pan.

  12. Bake for 45 minutes.
